How Team OVER/UNDER Works

What this shows

For every team, how often the combined game total finished OVER or UNDER the closing total line. The leaderboard is one row per team; click any team to see its full game log.

One game, two teams

A game's total is a single number shared by both clubs, so a game going OVER is an OVER for both the home and away team. Every graded game is therefore counted once for each team (double-counted by design). The team numbers are derived from the exact same graded games as the Umpire OVER/UNDER page, so the two reconcile.

Today's Slate

Each of today's games shows its start time and total, both teams' records, and the assigned home-plate umpire (or "HPU not posted yet"). Each record is shown as its dominant lean — an under-leaning team or umpire reads as e.g. 52.3% U (red), an over-leaning one as 54.0% O (green) — not always the OVER side. An optional combined quick-read averages the two teams' typical run totals against today's line. Everything renders from the database — the line reflects the last line-capture run, not a live feed.

Triple-lean highlight

When both teams and the home-plate umpire all lean the same way — all three OVER or all three UNDER — the game is outlined (green for OVER, red for UNDER) and tagged ▼ Triple UNDER lean / ▲ Triple OVER lean. A game where any of the three is neutral (exactly 50%) or has no profile is never highlighted. These are signals to look closer, not guarantees.

OVER / UNDER Rate

OVER% = overs ÷ (overs + unders). Pushes are excluded from the denominator (standard betting convention), so OVER% + UNDER% = 100%. The Games column counts every graded game, pushes included.

Home O% / Away O%

The same OVER% restricted to that team's home games and road games — useful for spotting home/road run-environment tendencies (a hitter's home park vs. a pitcher's, etc.).

Runs vs Line

Average actual combined runs minus the average closing total line, signed. Positive means this team's games tend to clear the number; negative means they stay under.

Min games filter & noise

Small samples are noisy. The Min games box (default 40) hides teams below that count and reports how many were hidden. Most teams clear this over a season; the control is kept for consistency with the umpire page.

Sorting & color

Click any column header to sort (click again to reverse). Default sort is OVER% high-to-low. The OVER% cell is tinted green toward heavy-OVER teams, red toward heavy-UNDER, neutral near 50%.
