How Braves H+R+RBI Predictions Work
What it predicts
For each Braves starting position player, we project their combined Hits + Runs + RBIs for that day's game and compare it to the sportsbook's H+R+RBI line (typically 1.5).
How
A sequential, inning-by-inning Monte Carlo simulation (25,000 game replays) using each batter's per-plate-appearance event rates vs. the opposing pitcher's hand, blended with the starter's allowed rates via the odds-ratio (log5) method, adjusted for the ballpark, and switching to a league-average reliever profile in the late innings.
Mean / P>1.5 / P>2.5
Mean is the average simulated H+R+RBI. P>1.5 and P>2.5 are the share of simulations clearing those lines.
Picks & edge
Sportsbook over/under prices are de-vigged to a fair probability. When our simulated probability beats the fair number by more than the edge threshold, we flag an OVER or UNDER. The record & ROI above are graded against closing lines (ROI assumes the posted price, or −110 if unavailable).
Frozen on lineup post
Predictions lock the instant the official lineup is confirmed and never change afterward — so the picks you see were available early enough to bet.
