How Cold Pitchers Works
What you're seeing
Each card is a starting pitcher whose season Statcast profile suggests they're getting destroyed at the plate. The qualifying section shows pitchers that clear all five thresholds; the near-miss section shows pitchers that clear four of five.
The five thresholds
xERA ≥ 5.00
xwOBA against ≥ 0.350
Hard-Hit % ≥ 45.0%
Barrel % ≥ 10.0%
Whiff % < 20.0%
Pitchers with fewer than 100 Statcast plate appearances are excluded as small-sample. All threshold values are admin-tunable at /admin/systems/cold-pitchers.
Clicking a pitcher card
Opens the matchup breakdown showing each opposing batter's HRR Over% and Runs Under% over the last 5 / last 10 / season. Use this to spot the most likely HRR-over and runs-under bets against the cold pitcher.
Important: both hit-rate columns are colored so green means "the bet you're targeting cashed." Runs columns show Under% (inverted), so a high green Runs cell means the batter has been falling under their runs prop.
